Job Summary

The Role

We have a rewarding opportunity for a talented lawyer to join our growing Restructuring and Insolvency practice in Sydney.

This role will see you acting for global financial institutions listed and multi-national companies funds directors insolvency practitioners and investors on a wide range of restructurings and workouts complex financing arrangements special situations insolvency.

Working closely with partner Katie Higgins and other senior practitioners within a nationally collaborative team this role offers a rewarding opportunity to develop both your legal and client relationship skills within a top tier law firm under the mentorship of industry experts. The multi-disciplinary nature of this practice gives you the opportunity to work with peers and partners in other teams across the firm.

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • 3 - 5 years PQE as a lawyer with strong academic performance;

  • A background in banking or finance with a desire to pivot into restructuring would be highly regarded;

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in order to build client relationships and maintain a positive team environment;

  • High quality and technically-sound drafting skills with excellent attention to details;

  • A proactive and dedicated approach to client service with strong time and project management skills.

The Restructuring & Insolvency Practice Group

The national Clayton Utz Restructuring and Insolvency team advises on all aspects of restructurings insolvencies special situations and has been retained in lead roles in many of the most significant R&I matters in Australia.

The co-operative and multi-skilled nature of our group enables us to provide advice not just on the full spectrum of insolvency recovery and special situations but also on pre-insolvency complex restructurings that preserve the long-term value of businesses for creditors and stakeholders.
