Manages a large comprehensive high school encompassing diverse academic concurrent enrollment activity and athletic programs. Serves as an educational leader dedicated to student success by facilitating the development articulation and implementation of a clear shared vision of learning supported by the school community. Oversees human resources to promote an orderly and practical work and learning environment while ensuring the safety of all students and staff.

Description of Job Tasks

- Oversees all aspects of staff management including hiring training directing assigning work evaluating performance and administering disciplinary or termination actions when necessary.
- Supervise assess and monitor student performance using objective and verifiable information including standardized criterion-referenced district and teacher-developed assessments.
- Evaluate and supervise school personnel for monitoring performance providing for professional growth and achieving the overall objectives of the schools curriculum.
- Establish and foster an adult learning environment by maximizing collaboration and adult learning to improve instruction providing teachers with materials inspiring new and challenging innovations and valuing a sense of community.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge or ability to develop monitor and evaluate curriculum discipline plans and supervision/safety plans.
- Knowledge of data analysis curriculum and instruction budgeting and accounting special education laws and master agreement/labor relations.
- Advocate for the students staff and school for the purpose of encouraging and promoting community involvement and outreach.
- Develop and manage budgets based on documented program needs student enrollment personnel and other fiscal needs: keep programs within budget limits; maintain budgetary control.
- Facilitate communication (oral and written) between personnel students and/or parents for the purpose of evaluating situations solving problems and/or resolving conflicts.
- Represent the school in community forums to maintain ongoing community support for educational goals and/or address issues related to the school environment.
- Assist in the maintenance of the crisis management plan and school safety requirements.
- Develop coordinate and supervise school programs in collaboration with school staff and/or outside agencies.
- Collaborate with teachers support personnel administrators and colleagues to enhance instruction and improve student outcomes in team and high school-based meetings and discussions.
- Actively participate in:
- Department team high school meetings and discussions.
- Student and/or family conferences and other meetings.
- Social cultural interscholastic and extracurricular activities.
- Professional growth opportunities.
- Attend work and arrive on time.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Related Work Experience
- Masters degree with successful completion of a Principal Licensure Program required.
- Three to five years of teaching experience at the secondary level and one additional year of experience in discipline attendance and supervision (dean/administrative experience) preferred.
Licenses Registrations or Certifications
- Criminal background check required for employment.
- Valid Colorado Principal License with appropriate endorsements preferred.
- CPR and First Aid certification required upon hire.
- All personnel must fully complete Windsor Charter Academys safety training ALICE (Alert Lockdown Inform Counter Evacuate). Staff must demonstrate understanding and implementation of these protocols as part of their responsibility to maintain a safe and secure learning environment.
