Essential Functions and Responsibilities-Knowledge Skills and Abilities:Follow all rules policies and procedures of the Lawrence Public Schools along with state and federal regulations pertaining to special educationPresent self in a professional manner in dress conduct and behaviorMaintain appropriate boundaries and confidentiality with students and other professionalsMaintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPPA regulationsSeek out and actively engage in professional development activitiesBecome familiar with IEPs and assist with execution of goals and accommodationsMonitor and engage with students at all times during work hours unless directed otherwiseBe familiar with lesson plans and duties associated with them for each lessonWork with individuals and/or small groups to deliver special education servicesImplement de-escalation skills behavior management strategies behavior intervention plan and crisis intervention as neededProperly document serious student incidentsCommunicate with ancillary providers as directedBe familiar with and facilitate lesson plans and duties associated with them on an as needed basisPerform related duties as requested as needed by teacher or administratorAs part of the job requirements and responsibilities the Crisis Intervention Aide must maintain yearly Crisis Intervention Prevention (CPI) and/or Safety Care training and certification.
