Salary Line: $38-$48 per hour
POSITION SUMMARY:
Temporary Compliance Analyst (Leave Coverage)
Reporting to the Compliance & Privacy Officer this temporary role will provide support to the Compliance function during the Compliance Audit Managers leave. The Compliance Analyst will assist in carrying out key compliance and privacy activities to help ensure continued adherence to federal and state healthcare regulations including HIPAA and to Healthix and SHIN-NY Privacy and Security Policies.
The role will work closely with the Senior Manager of Compliance and collaborate with internal teams and designated contacts at participating organizations. Responsibilities will include supporting ongoing compliance monitoring documentation and reporting as well as assisting with privacy-related inquiries and special projects as assigned.
This position requires professionalism strong communication and interpersonal skills attention to detail and the ability to manage confidential information with integrity.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work collaboratively with the Compliance Department to oversee audit and monitoring processes ensuring compliance with Healthix and SHIN-NY Policies and Procedures. This responsibility will include audit initiation evidence collection documentation of findings issuance of audit results and corrective action plans.
- Provide support to the Privacy Officer with QE Certification submission by coordinating the collection verification and secure submission of required documentation and evidence.
- Maintain comprehensive records of compliance and privacy activities and correspondence including but not limited to investigations audits and requests.
- Identify address and resolve compliance or privacy-related issues in partnership with internal departments participants or other stakeholders
- Contribute to the review enhancement and maintenance of training materials.
- Assist with the education and training of Participants as well as company-wide education.
- Maintain dashboards metrics key performance indicators and reporting to the Privacy Officer.
- Assist with client onboarding process which includes review and completion of a Participant compliance plan and consent training.
- Oversee and complete compliance tasks during the participant termination process.
- Contribute to the development of policies and procedures to support Healthix compliance and privacy programs as well as annual QE Certification activities.
- Receive and process requests for patient health information in accordance with SHIN-NY and Healthix Privacy and Security Policies state and federal guidelines. This involves calls with patients and other individuals as well as close coordination with Customer Support to provide timely resolutions.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations including general developments in health law and policies promulgated by the regulatory bodies governing Healthix Participants/clients and Health Information Exchanges (HIEs).
- Maintain confidentiality and security with all protected health information.
- Work collaboratively with other Healthix business lines such as Information Technology Information Security Project Management Customer Excellence Marketing and Customer Support etc. to meet organizations goals.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demonstrated knowledge of health care compliance and/or privacy concepts and practices
- Competence in developing strong relationship skills with a high emphasis on delivering value and service for a high volume of customers in New Yorks healthcare landscape
- Strong project management analytical and organizational skills with an emphasis on time management and workflow
- Professional demeanor with exceptional interpersonal verbal and written communication skills
- Working Knowledge of MS Office 365 Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to plan execute and contribute to process improvement if necessary
- Ability to follow personal and company workplan goals and objective efficiently and effectively
- Current CHC CHPC (HCCA) or other relevant certification is a plus
Education and Experience
- Bachelors Degree is required; in a health care-related field
- Background in healthcare compliance privacy or other related field
- Knowledge of relevant federal and state laws regulations and guidelines pertaining to compliance and privacy
- Knowledge of the State Health Information Network of NY (SHIN-NY) policies and procedures is preferred
