Essential Functions:
Serves as a district-wide service provider and behavior consultant for special education students requiring services beyond the scope of a school psychologist.
Serves as a member of a clinical team including the Principal Special Education Teacher General Education Teacher Team Chairperson related service providers.
Train Tutors/Paraprofessionals so they can appropriately assist in the implementation of behavior plans.
Qualifications:
Masters degree and BCBA Certification
Experience working with children and their families
Experience working with children at the elementary level desired
Experience in completing Functional Behavior Assessments and developing behavior improvement plans
Excellent listening communication and organizational skills
Responsibilities:
Work in conjunction with the other District BCBA to provide support to the Districts substantially separate programs as well as other identified students.
Analyze available student data to help determine where when and why problem behaviors occur.
Directly observe students and complete Functional Behavior assessments as requested by staff according to established procedural guidelines.
Define all target behaviors in objective and measurable terms and design an appropriate data collection system to measure the target behaviors.
Integrate appropriate setting event antecedent teaching and consequences strategies to reduce problem behavior and increasealternative replacement behaviors.
Provide district wide Professional Training as well as Train staff members on the implementation of the behavior support plans.
Monitor the individuals behavior data and provide descriptive progress notes on a quarterly basis (or more frequently if needed.)
Conduct treatment fidelity assessments to ensure proper implementation of the behavior support plan.
Review behavior data meet and discuss with the appropriate staff member any discrepancies noted on the behavior data (e.g. lack of documentation inappropriate restrictions or lack of appropriate consequences; situations in which the current behavior program or treatment approach were not followed appropriately.)
