Sterile Processing Technician
Location:Long Beach CA
Contract Length:13 Weeks (with potential to transition to permanent role)
Shift:3rd Shift 11:00 PM 7:30 AM
Weekly Gross Pay:$1040
Position Summary:
The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for cleaning sterilizing assembling and maintaining surgical instruments and equipment in accordance with regulatory standards and facility protocols. This role ensures the safe handling and accurate preparation of instrument sets to support surgical and procedural teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Follow ANSI/AAMI guidelines manufacturer IFUs and facility SOPs.
Decontaminate used surgical instruments using proper PPE and procedural standards.
Disassemble clean reassemble and inspect instruments including complex instrumentation.
Accurately assemble trays and sets in accordance with case needs and build sheets.
Operate washers sterilizers and related processing equipment safely.
Verify cleanliness function and sterility of processed instruments.
Document and report damaged or missing instruments.
Maintain accurate logs for sterilization cycles tracking systems and inventory records.
Handle all instrumentation and equipment with care to prevent damage.
Assist with inventory control and restocking of supplies.
Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of processing and sterilization equipment.
Keep work areas organized safe and in compliance with infection control standards.
Communicate effectively with internal teams and support departments.
Participate in ongoing training and maintain required certifications.
Perform additional tasks as assigned by leadership.
