Position Summary
The Division of Allied Health Sciences Medical Assisting Program is seeking Adjunct instructors for several courses including Phlebotomy. As an adjunct instructor you work with students to provide them with the knowledge and training they need to be successful in the Medical Assisting and/or Phlebotomy field.
Days and times depend on specific course schedule. Evenings and Saturdays may be required for certain courses.
Duties and Responsibilities
Adjunct instructors are responsible for:
Prepare syllabus and course materials.
Instruct lecture and/or labs.
Prepare online course material to support instruction.
Keep attendance and grade records.
Report mid-term and final grades by deadlines.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Associates degree preferred
Experience- Minimum of one year experience in Medical Assisting Phlebotomy or healthcare related field
- Previous teaching or training experience preferred
Knowledge Skills and Abilities- Excellent interpersonal skills: ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing and to relate to others in a professional manner.
- Excellent teamwork skills: skilled at collaborating in a positive manner.
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to analyze identify solutions and take appropriate action to resolve problems.
- Ability to maintain professionalism when faced with difficult situations.
- Demonstrated ability to work well with professionals across multiple disciplines.
- Commitment to following all College policies and procedures.
- Teaching utilizing real-world experience
- Ability to demonstrate the use of relevant technology and learning management systems to effectively facilitate teaching learning assessment and communication.
- Demonstrate a passion for the academic field and education in general
- Possess the ability to commit to student engagement including maintaining consistent communication and support mechanisms to ensure student positively progress to meet their goals
Licensure/Certification- RMA CMA PBT (ASCP) certification preferred
