Veterinary Surgery Lead Nurse (Full-Time) Peninsula Vet Care East Mornington

Are you passionate about patient care and people Do you enjoy leading and coordinating a successful team We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Surgery Lead Nurse within our East Mornington general practice clinic.

At Peninsula Vet Care East Mornington youll be working in a general practice clinic attached to our Peninsula Vet Emergency & Referral Hospital giving you the best of both worlds: interesting and manageable GP caseloads with the reassurance of 24/7 access to specialists in surgery medicine critical care and more right next door.

  • 5 weekday shifts 1 in 4 full weekend rotation

Who We Are

Peninsula Vet Care is the largest veterinary care provider on the Mornington Peninsula with five GP clinics supported by our separate Emergency & Referral Hospital. At East Mornington youll be part of a busy general practice team with the backing and resources of our wider Peninsula Vet Care network.

About the Role

Working closely with the Clinic Manager and Client Services Area Leader youll oversee the day-to-day operations of our GP surgery team. Youll also have the opportunity to mentor and train junior nurses with ongoing support from our Nurse Educator and other Area Leaders across the group.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead train and mentor junior nurses in line with tailored training plans
  • Ensure GP clinic standards of care and customer service are consistently met
  • Coordinate daily schedules including surgical bookings and staff rostering
  • Identify areas for improvement and recommend operational solutions

About You

  • Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 3 years experience as a veterinary nurse
  • Passion for patient care client service and team leadership
  • Strong organisational problem-solving and communication skills
  • Enjoys mentoring and developing others in a supportive environment
