Your Opportunity
A full-time opportunity has become available for a Psychologist or Provisional Psychologist to join our vibrant and supportive team based in Northbridge. This is an on-site position with regular placements in other Mission Australia offices. The role is ideal for someone passionate about working with at-risk youth and contributing to a multidisciplinary team focused on improving outcomes for young people experiencing AOD-related challenges.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of young people providing up to 34 one-hour appointments daily with ongoing support for up to 12 months.
- Provide clinical advice and guidance to the SHIFT team including consultation supervision and training.
- Facilitate psychosocial education groups and coordinate appointment planning and follow-up documentation.
- Review referrals and assess the need for specialist support ensuring appropriate models of care are applied.
- Maintain accurate client records and reporting requirements using Mission Australias case management systems.
- Liaise with external support agencies and contribute to service planning and staff meetings.
- Support safety and crisis planning during sessions and collaborate with case managers and program managers post-incident.
Requirementsfor Success
- A Bachelor of Psychology and eligibility or registration with the Psychology Board of Australia and AHPRA.
- Demonstrated experience working with young people facing complex AOD and mental health challenges.
- Proven ability to apply therapeutic approaches and conduct risk assessments in clinical settings.
- Strong case management assessment and referral skills with experience in youth-specific services.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience in maintaining client files and confident using information management systems.
- A positive person-centred approach and commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.
- First Aid Certificate is desired but not essential.
- Full driver licence with no restrictions.
Before starting work with us you will need to undertake a national police history check qualifications and referee checks and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
