We have athriving Mid-Atlantic Transportation & Infrastructure practice with a close-knit team-oriented group that is growing rapidly. Due to our success we need to continue to add resources to assist with the delivery of our current extensive backlog of work. This backlog includes tasks associated with various infrastructure improvement projects for MDOT as well as numerous municipal institutional and private sector clients.

We are seeking mid-level water resources engineer. The ideal candidate is an individual who wants to be part of a team displays confidence and possesses a desire to work on production project and mentor less experienced staff in hydraulic design principles eco-restoration erosion and sediment control and stormwater management.

Responsibilities include:

  • Development of design plans including storm drains culverts storm water management ESD/LID facilities outfall and stream restoration and erosion and sediment control.
  • Coordinating design development and task management to achieve quality deliverables within the established schedule and budget.
  • Preparation of specifications cost estimates and technical reports.
  • Field assessments
  • Establishing working relationships and interfacing with senior technical staff and project managers.
  • Assisting with technical direction to other design staff
  • Attending project meetings with clients sub-consultants and the project team.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related field
  • PE preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive water resourcedesign experience
  • Experience in various technical aspects of Water Resources Engineering - design of storm drains culverts eco-restoration storm water management BMPs GI/ESD facilities erosion and sediment control and environmental permitting
  • Experience using hydrologic and hydraulic software such as TR-55 TR-20 HY-8 HydroCAD HEC-RAS and SWMM models.
  • Familiarity with NPDES permit requirements of municipalities and other government entities
  • Knowledge of Chesapeake Bay TMDL requirements
  • Proficient with MicroStation Inroads/OpenRoad Civil 3D modeling orESRI ArcGIS
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience working effectively both independently and in multi-disciplinary teams.
  • At least 3 years of that experience providing professional design services for transportation improvement projects. MDOT (SHA MdTA MTA and MPA) Baltimore City and other County/City agencies preferred.

Compensation Range:

$85226.60 - $113635.46
