Position Title: Dignity Krewe Member at Connection 2 Community Clubhouse
Company Description: NAMI San Diego & Imperial Counties (National Alliance on Mental Illness) is a nonprofit organization that provides free education support services and advocacy to improve the quality of life of everyone affected by mental illnesses.
Primary Responsibilities/Function: Ideal candidate is a responsible hardworking individual who takes pride in their work and is willing to be an active participant in our Connections 2 Community Clubhouse team. Candidate will work on a team with other Dignity Krewe Members to set up facilitate and break down daily showers from a 40-foot shower trailer. Responsible for the external and internal appearance and sanitation of the 40-foot shower trailer and sanitizes each individual stall after each instance of use. The ideal candidate will be experienced in a custodian role with a focus on shower sanitation. They will have a strong work ethic and a keen eye for detail and diligence. The candidate will also be able to present professionalism with clients and staff alike.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Set up and facilitate shower trailer check in-station clothing table and laundry service.
- Assist in setting up of propane tanks and running of generator.
- Sanitize individual shower units between each use.
- Restock towels and assist in towel service restocking.
- Keep exterior clean walkways clear for patrons.
- Restock soap dispensers and create hygiene kits.
- Assist in drain out shower trailer gray water daily.
- Report major damages and assist in repairs if needed.
- Adhere to the companys safety policies to create a safe work environment for everyone.
- Present and part of the interdisciplinary NAMI San Diego & Imperial Counties specialist team.
- Serve as an on-site presence to assist in de-escalation and monitoring of participant activity as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Accountability: Reports to NAMI San Diego & Imperial CountiesProgram Directorat the worksite.

Minimum requirements including linguistic and cultural skills education experiences licenses and certifications:
- High school diploma GED or suitable equivalent.
- Proficient knowledge of cleaning equipment and agents.
- Proficient in computer software
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Physically agile and dexterous.
- Resilient to cleaning agents and chemicals.
- Outstanding organizational skills.
- Trauma-informed as we serve an underserved population.
- Demonstrated ability and desire to work as part of a team
- Willingness to support NAMI San Diego & Imperial County mission and values
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality
- Reliable and consistent attendance and transportation
- Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness mental illness or substance use disorders or with vulnerable populations preferred
- Lived experience in SMI SUD or housing insecurity of self or direct support to an individual with SMI SUD or housing insecurity preferred
- Strong positive viewpoint towards individuals living with mental health conditions substance use conditions homelessness and /or recent history of justice involvement
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to evolving contract requirements and staffing needs
