Position Logistics:
- Full Time Exempt Position
- Salary $63000/annually DOE
- Work will be primarily done from the Camp Fire Alaskas Main office located 161 Klevin Street in Anchorage AK as well as travel to our various elementary school locations across Anchorage and Eagle River. This position will have the option for a hybrid work schedule that will adjust to meet supervisor and agency needs.
- Work hours will typically be 8 hour/day Monday - Friday between 9am - 6pm. There may be occasional work hours in the evening or weekend to meet agency needs or to attend events.
- This position is part of the School Age Program Department and reports to the Director of Operations.
- This position will supervise Senior Site Directors

Position Overview:
The Summer Adventure Camp Program Director provides year-round leadership supervision and oversight to the management of Camp Fire Alaskas Summer Adventure Camp. They will lead and collaborate with a team of direct and indirect reports to deliver high-quality licensed summer day camp programming.
During the school year from August through May the Summer Adventure Camp Program Director will spend the majority of your time in this role will be spent in office developing and executing a vision for Summer Adventure Camp(SAC). This includes developing the SAC program structure planning activities developing curriculum working within a budget and creating effective trainings that support our staff to carry out the Summer Adventure Camp vision.
During the summer from end of May through July this position will oversee in the supervision and management of Summer Adventure Camp Program locations and addition to the year round supervisory responsibilities you will be collecting feedback and data to inform decisions and planning for next summer.
Qualifications:
- Minimum: 3 years experience working in program planning implementation and working with youth (preferably school-age children) in a group and semi-structured setting required.
- Prior experience in the development and delivery of programs for youth required.
- Successful experience as an administrator within a licensed or accredited program including experience going through a review from a regulatory entity understanding of standards and regulations and leading a continuous improvement process required.
- Previous supervision experience in a youth development and/or nonprofit agency required.
- Minimum of twelve college credits (with at least 3 credit hours specific to early childhood education) in education youth development or related filed OR Child Youth Care Credential (CYC) required.
- Experience in designing and facilitating training programs for youth and staff including new employee onboarding required.
- Ability to transport all program materials and supplies to site required; ability to visit all sites on demand.
- Twenty-five (25) years of age required.
