Dignity Health Mercy San Juan Medical Center is a 384-bed not-for-profit Level 2 Trauma Center located in Carmichael California. We have served north Sacramento County as well as south Placer County for over 50 years. Our facility is one of the areas largest medical centers and also one of the most comprehensive. Job Summary and Responsibilities
The incumbent is a member of the healthcare team whose role is to facilitate unit operations through order processing requisition of services and patient procedures maintaining accurate and complete patient charts and managing unit clerical supplies. The Monitor Technician may also assist in patient care as assigned.
Clinical/Technical Skills: Utilizes technology procedures protocols standards and interventions specific to assigned unit. Recognizes emergency situations (including life threatening arrhythmias) and responds effectively and appropriately. Notifies the RN with rhythm changes in a proactive approach. Validates clinical alarms. Anticipates patient/unit needs during emergency/code situations without requiring direction. Effectively and appropriately applies discontinues and cleans telemetry transmitters. Accurately enters data for the central and satellite telemetry monitoring system. Able to troubleshoot problem areas on the central monitoring system
Job Requirements
Requirements:
- One (1) year monitor tech experience
- Basic Cardiac Monitor Certification required
- BLS (Basic Life Support/CPR authorized by the American Heart Association)
- Medical terminology course or equivalent knowledge.
