Job Description:

Initiative Implementation and Managing Projects

  • Lead the planning design and execution of projects that establish and sustain comprehensive onboarding and orientation systems for EFNEP staff statewide.
  • Define project scope objectives deliverables and success measures to ensure all onboarding and orientation efforts align with EFNEP and UF/IFAS Extension program goals.
  • Coordinate the development of clear engaging and accessible orientation materials that introduce new employees to UF/IFAS Extension policies EFNEP procedures and organizational culture.
  • Develop and oversee an integrated onboarding framework that supports new staff in mastering their specific roles through structured learning mentoring and performance milestones.
  • Create and maintain detailed project work plans timelines and evaluation tools to track progress and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
  • Collaborate with internal and county-based EFNEP teams to gather input pilot new tools and refine materials based on feedback and data.
  • Facilitate project meetings to promote communication accountability and shared ownership among team members and stakeholders.
  • Regularly report progress and outcomes to the EFNEP Associate Director identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Work/contribute to grant-funded projects by supporting research program implementation reporting and other related activities as assigned.

Team Leadership Oversight and Performance Management

  • Provide direct supervision and leadership to the Education and Training Specialist Data Management Analyst I (DMA) and Communications Specialist fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
  • Conduct regular team meetings and individual check-ins to promote open communication set clear goals and monitor progress toward deliverables.
  • Coach and mentor direct reports to support professional growth build skills and ensure alignment with EFNEPs statewide goals and objectives.
  • Fulfill all UF performance management responsibilities including setting expectations conducting evaluations and providing ongoing feedback through UF Engaged.
  • Plan develop and deliver training sessions related to onboarding orientation and other professional development topics relevant to EFNEP staff.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and program effectiveness by supporting research evaluation and data-informed decision-making activities as assigned.

Travel

Travel is required and will include site visits to county offices to support onboarding and orientation activities. Occasional overnight travel is expected. Attendance at the full out-of-county annual training is mandatory.

Training

  • Design coordinate and deliver engaging training sessions for EFNEP staff to strengthen program knowledge skills and effectiveness.
  • Develop training content and resources that support both onboarding (role-specific skill building and integration) and ongoing professional development (continuous learning and performance enhancement).
  • Collaborate with team members and subject matter experts to ensure training materials reflect current EFNEP policies best practices and program goals.

Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Expected Salary:

$75000 commensurate with education and experience

Required Qualifications:
  • Masters degree in an appropriate area of specialization or a bachelors degree in a related field with relevant professional experience or training.
  • Strong organizational analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing and to maintain positive working relationships with colleagues across teams and locations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word Excel PowerPoint and ability to quickly learn and utilize new software or digital tools to support program management.
  • Ability to work independently exercise initiative and manage multiple priorities with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed for onboarding training and program-related activities.
Preferred:
  • PhD in Human Nutrition or related field.
  • Proven experience in program management staff onboarding and professional development initiatives.
  • Experience leading teams providing mentorship and managing performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize communicate and enforce program policies and procedures.
  • Ability to design and deliver engaging role-specific training sessions for staff groups.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to foster a collaborative high-performing team environment.
