Position Summary
The School of Professional Studies and University Transfer is currently seeking qualified individuals to instruct History for upcoming semesters.
Duties and Responsibilities
This position requires the adjunct to:
- Instruct History survey courses (including World History to 1500 World History since 1500 and/or US History since 1877).
- Develop and manage course syllabus and materials
- Develop and manage an online course site in the colleges LMS Blackboard Learn
- Maintain records of attendance and student performance
- Submit attendance and grades as required by the college
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Masters degree from an accredited institution in History or
- Masters degree in a closely related field with 18 credits of history at the graduate level
Experience- 1-2 years of teaching experience
Knowledge Skills and Abilities- Design and deliver effective instruction
- Assess student learning and incorporate findings into course delivery
- Utilize a learning management system to supplement face-to-face instruction
- Support and encourage students in a civil and welcoming classroom climate
This is a continuous job posting to establish a qualified pool of adjuncts on an as-needed basis from semester to semester.
Adjunct pay dependent on degree level.
