Job Summary:

This position supports management by evaluating and interpreting data from a variety of sources related to field and Protective Services Review Team (PSRT) and ensures PSRT is adhering to the DCS Management System; assists in developing and maintaining reports and by gathering and extracting data from various databases; provides designing policy assistance procedures and rules in accordance to legislative standards and existing statutory requirements; researches and gathers data reads/reviews all sensitive material associated to each appeal; maintains verbal/written contact with all stakeholders researches the collection of confidential sensitive materials amends or affirms submission of abuse/neglect based upon research addition leads PSRT Region Review Specialists monitors the teams Regional Review Specialists and Legal Assistants. This position is responsible for monitoring all entries of findings of abuse/neglect that are being issued through the dependency process.


This position may offer the ability to work remotely within Arizona based upon the departments business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Job Duties:
  • Serves as lead over PSRT Analysts and Legal Assistants who are responsible for entering final findings for all substantiations with non dependency and dependency matters. Reviews and assigns proposed substantiated findings received for processing.
  • Ensures proposed substantiated findings meet statutory guidelines prior to entry into the DCS Central Registry. Responsible for training needs of Legal Assistants and Regional Review Specialists. Responsible for staffing of appeals for court hearings in place of PSRT Manager.
  • Analyzes program data and reports to management on trends and statistical importance of complex material collected that are aligned with the DCS Management System. Takes action that is consistent with available facts constraints and probable consequences; identifies issues problems and opportunities within the program.
  • Participates and leads discussions related to innovative program development to include establishing work plans and time-lines. Participates and leads discussions related to innovative program development to include establishing work plans and time-lines.
  • Visits field units for technical assistance and informational sessions. May be required to drive for official state business.

Selective Preference(s):

Masters or Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of DCS Specialist experience. PSRT Reviewer experience (2 years) Lead mentor or supervisory experience. Experience in data analysis to include extensive knowledge of the DCS Management System Experience in applying Arizona statues and administrative rules to make decisions providing court testimony and experience working with clients courts and the Office of the Attorney General.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

Requires the possession of and ability to retain a current valid state-issued drivers license appropriate to the assignment. Employees who drive on state business are subject to drivers license record checks must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R.11). Employees may be required to use their own transportation as well as maintain valid motor vehicle insurance and current Arizona vehicle registration. Mileage may be reimbursed if applicable.

The ability to secure and maintain clearance from the DCS Central Registry
