GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
Solicits residential mortgages through contacts with Realtors builders and developers. Develops referral relationships with Community Development Organizations and participates in Community Development activities. Interviews loan applicants and makes credit decisions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Work with assigned branch office to ensure awareness of home loan products. This duty is performed daily.
2. Handle referralsfrom branch office and provide appropriate follow-up. This duty is performed daily.
3. Develop referral contacts (realtors builders professional and personal contacts). This duty is performed daily.
4. Analyze financial data to determine creditworthiness. This duty is performed daily.
5. Maintain knowledge of available loan products processing procedures and underwriting guidelines. This duty is performed daily.
6. Take borrower applications. This duty is performed daily.
7. Utilize communication and access of daily rates credit reports and DU responses and transmitting to processor. This duty is performed daily.
8. Collect appropriate documentation from each applicant and deliver loan package to processor in a timely manner. This duty is performed daily.
9. Maintain high levels of customer service while managing each applicants and support staffs expectations. This duty is performed daily.
10. Attend and participate in all lending meetings as required. This duty is performed as needed.
11. Complete BSA/AML training and other compliance training as necessary. This duty is performed as needed.
12. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. This duty is performed daily.
13. Develop referral contacts with Community Development Organizations. This duty is performed daily.
14. Attend Community Development meetings to build and strengthen relationships. This duty is performed weekly.
15. Represent bank at various civic charitable educational and social affairs in order to develop and expand relationships. This duty is performed weekly.
16. Makes presentations on financial education to groups to attract new business. This duty is performed monthly.
17. Attend and participate in CRA Development meetings and trainings as required. This duty is performed as needed.
18. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Broad knowledge of such fields as accounting marketing business administration finance etc. Equivalent to a four year college degree plus 4 years related experience and/or training and 2 years related management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Ability to read analyze and understand general business/company related articles and professional journals; Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts interest commissions proportions percentages area circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions ratios and proportions to practical situations.
CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of known variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral or diagram formats.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATES LICENSES REGISTRATIONS
This position requires S.A.F.E. Act registration at the time of employment through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS). The NMLS web site provides the MU4R questions and registration required for employment in this position.
