Job Summary

Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking Surgical Assistantfor an exciting job in Cincinnati OH.

Responsibilities

Prepare and position patients for surgery according to surgeons instructions.
Provide visualization of the operative field through retraction suctioning and tissue manipulation.
Maintain hemostasis and assist with wound closures including subcutaneous and skin layers.
Administer local anesthetics postoperatively under surgeon supervision.
Select and apply appropriate wound dressings and immobilization materials.
Assist with harvesting veins arteries tendons bones and tissue grafts.
Ensure compliance with sterile technique and infection control standards.
Maintain knowledge of surgical techniques instrumentation and emerging technologies.

Qualifications

Education:

Completion of a CAAHEP-accredited Surgical Technology program or
Foreign Medical Graduate with at least 3 years of U.S. surgical assisting experience (case-by-case consideration).
Preferred: Associates degree or completion of an accredited Surgical Assisting program.

Certifications:

Required: BLS (American Heart Association).
Preferred: NSAA CFA (AST) or RNFA (NASC).

Experience & Skills:

Strong understanding of anatomy physiology and surgical procedures.
Excellent manual dexterity and handeye coordination.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and stand for extended periods.
Preferred: Minimum 2 years as a Surgical Assistant and 4 years of general surgical experience including 2 years in a specialty area.
