Be our next Materials Field Manager!
Your work environment at EXP
In this role you will oversee all field materials operations for the SR 400 Express Lanes Project. This role is critical to ensuring quality control compliance with specifications and timely delivery of materials testing and documentation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in transportation infrastructure materials testing and field leadership and hands-on training to lower-level inspectors and materials testing staff ensuring consistent application of project standards proper sampling and testing procedures and accurate documentation. Mentor team members in field techniques safety protocols and quality assurance practices to build technical competency and support professional development.
What a day at EXP has in store for you
- Manage and coordinate field materials testing operations including soil asphalt concrete and aggregate sampling.
- Ensure compliance with GDOT specifications standards and procedures.
- Supervise field technicians and coordinate with contractors consultants and GDOT personnel.
- Review and approve daily reports test results and certifications.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for audits and project closeout.
- Support construction engineering staff with materials-related issues and troubleshooting.
- Conduct field inspections and verify material installations as per approved plans.
What your experience looks like
Minimum 7 years of experience in materials testing and field inspection on transportation projects.
APNGA Nuclear Gauge Safety Certification (includes USDOT HAZMAT Refresher)
APNGA Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) Certification
GDOT Field Technician Certification(s) preferred (e.g. QCT Level 1 & 2 Concrete Field Testing Technician).
Strong knowledge of GDOT specifications AASHTO ASTM standards and construction materials.
Excellent communication organizational and leadership skills.
Proficiency in materials documentation systems (e.g. SiteManager AASHTOWare).
Valid drivers license and ability to travel within the project corridor.
Experience managing materials on large-scale DOT projects.
Familiarity with SRTA or GDOT Design-Build procedures.
NICET certification in Construction Materials Testing or GDOT comparable training/certifications.
