Job Summary

As a functional developer you are responsible together with a feature team for the

implementation of new control functions and their adaptations based on the requirements from

the calibration teams. The scope ranges from classic functions for controlling a gasoline engine

to OBD and emission functions as well as the adjustment of drive functions for the operating

strategy of plug-in hybrids.

Job Responsibilities:

Design develop and implement software functions related to control of gasoline

engines

Test and validate the newly developed software functions on MIL/SIL/HIL/test-vehicle

Adapt existing functions as per customer or legislative requirements

Develop scripts for automation of regular function development activities

Actively participate in the migration of existing software functions to the new Gen6

toolchain

Design and development of the new engine control architecture for REX and PHEV Next

(engine control unit as a smart actuator ECU)

Required background:

Bachelors or masters degree (preferred) in Mechanical Engineering Automotive

Engineering or comparable fields

Prior experience in function development for powertrain control units (engine control

units preferred)

Prior experience of CAN/ LIN/Ethernet and vehicle network testing

Knowledge in ISO 14229 and prior experience in the development of diagnostic routines

Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink and experience in using programming languages such as

C/Python

Affinity for developing scripts to automate regular development activities

Experience in using calibration tools such as ETAS INCA

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently as also lead development teams

Good communication skills and fluency in English

German language skills (also at beginner level) would be advantageous
