Job Summary

We are excited to be adding a Purchaser to the MAC Trailer Team. Our purchaser compiles information and records to prepare purchase orders for procurement of material by performing the following duties. This job offers the opportunity to work with people who take pride in the products that they make.

Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm

What you will do:

â Verify nomenclature and specifications of purchase requests.
â Search inventory records or warehouse to determine if there are sufficient materials on hand.
â Consult catalogs and interview suppliers to obtain prices and specifications.
â Type or write invitation of bid forms and mail forms to supplier firms or for public posting.
â Write or type purchase orders and send copy to supplier and department originating request.
â Compile records of items purchased or transferred between departments prices deliveries and inventories.
â Compute total cost of items purchased.
â Confer with suppliers concerning late deliveries.
â Compare prices specifications and delivery dates and awards contract to bidders or place orders with suppliers or mail order firms.
â Verify bills from suppliers with bids and purchase orders and approve bills for payment.
â Classify priority regulations.
â Any other duties assigned.

â Ability to compute rate ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
â Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral or diagram form.
â Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
â Basic computer skills.
â Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
â Or six months to one-year related experience and/or training
â Or equivalent combination of education and experience
