Job Summary
Position: Registered Nurse Med/Surg Telemetry
Location: Syracuse NY 13210
Shift: Nights 3x12 hours (7:00 PM 7:00 AM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Block Scheduling: Not guaranteed
Overview:This position provides care on adult Medical-Surgical/Telemetry units in a fast-paced acute care environment. Nurses must be confident in managing complex patient conditions telemonitoring IV access and collaborating with interdisciplinary care teams.
Requirements:
Active New York RN License
BLS certification required
Minimum 1.5 years recent acute care experience (within the last 2 years)
Must have experience at a Level I or Level II trauma hospital or similar-sized acute care facility
Must be able to:
Start IVs
Draw labs
Monitor and interpret telemetry
EPIC EMR experience preferred
Scheduling & Expectations:
Every other weekend required
Must be available to work 2 out of 3 major winter/seasonal holidays
Excessive RTO or fixed scheduling requests will not be approved
Floating may be required within competency to similar units
Preferred Skills:
Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
Ability to work independently in a high-acuity environment
Effective communication and documentation skills
