Assignment Details
Shift: Day Shift 4 10-hour shifts
Hours: 11:00 AM 9:30 PM
Weekly Gross Pay: $2484
W2 Rate: $25/hour
Weekly Stipend: $1484
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment in Rochester NY. The ideal candidate is a skilled perioperative nurse with strong technical expertise across multiple surgical specialties and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced surgical environment while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and care.
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care throughout all phases of surgery
Prepare operating rooms equipment and supplies according to procedure requirements
Maintain sterile technique and adhere to infection control radiation and laser safety standards
Assist surgeons during procedures by functioning as circulator and/or scrub nurse
Perform accurate surgical counts and ensure proper specimen handling
Monitor patient safety positioning and physiological status during procedures
Respond effectively to trauma and emergency surgical cases
Document perioperative care accurately in the electronic health record (Epic preferred)
Collaborate with surgeons anesthesia providers and multidisciplinary surgical teams
Advocate for patient safety and quality outcomes throughout the surgical process
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
Minimum 3 years of recent Operating Room experience
Prior travel nursing experience required
BLS certification (required)
CNOR certification (preferred)
Experience with Epic charting system (preferred)
Preferred Clinical Experience
General OR and scrub experience
Orthopedic and Spine procedures (Total Joints Fusions Arthroscopy)
Neurosurgery procedures (Craniotomy Cervical/Lumbar Fusions VP Shunt)
Vascular procedures (AAA repair endovascular interventions)
General Surgery (Laparoscopic Mastectomy Whipple procedures)
GYN and Urology surgeries
Robotic surgery experience Da Vinci Xi (preferred)
Trauma and emergency surgical response
