Job Summary

The Kitchen Helper supports daily kitchen operations by assisting with food preparation cleaning and maintaining hygiene standards. This role ensures that the kitchen remains organized stocked and compliant with all food safety and sanitation requirements. The ideal candidate is reliable detail-oriented and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Food Preparation Support:
Wash peel chop and prepare ingredients according to instructions from the chef or kitchen supervisor.
Sanitation & Cleaning:
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen surfaces equipment utensils and storage areas in accordance with food safety standards.
Inventory Assistance:
Assist with receiving labeling and storing food supplies and ingredients properly to ensure freshness and minimize waste.
Waste Management:
Dispose of food waste and recycling in compliance with company and regulatory sanitation procedures.
Restocking & Organization:
Refill workstations prep tables and storage areas to ensure the kitchen is fully stocked and ready for service.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with kitchen staff to support smooth and efficient food production operations.

Qualifications & Skills

Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment preferred.
Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP or equivalent).
Ability to work quickly and efficiently under supervision.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays as required.
