Job Summary

Job Title: Foreman (Geotechnical Projects)
Experience: 5 years in of relevant experience in geotechnical or construction site supervision.
Location: Nigeria

Job Summary:

The Geotechnical Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating all on-site geotechnical works including drilling sampling in-situ testing and equipment handling. The role ensures all field activities are completed safely efficiently and in accordance with project specifications and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and coordinate drilling sampling and soil testing operations.
Ensure compliance with project drawings specifications and safety procedures.
Lead and monitor rig operators drillers and assistants to maintain productivity and quality.
Oversee proper sample logging labeling and preservation for laboratory testing.
Maintain accurate daily site records including progress reports and equipment usage.
Inspect and maintain tools rigs and other field equipment; report any defects promptly.
Support engineers and geologists with data collection and field documentation.
Enforce health safety and environmental (HSE) standards on site.
Coordinate with site management to plan activities and resolve operational challenges.
Train and guide junior field staff in geotechnical procedures and safety practices.

Qualifications & Experience:

OND / HND / Trade Test Certificate in Civil Engineering Geology or related field.
Proven knowledge of drilling operations borehole logging and soil investigation methods.
Strong leadership communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and field instructions.
Physically fit and willing to work on-site for extended periods.
Good understanding of HSE standards and site management practices.
