Title: Senior Business Systems Analyst

Location: Washington DC

Position Responsibilities:

• Lead workshops and conduct in-depth interviews with stakeholders across various departments to understand document and prioritize complex business requirements and objectives.
• Translate high-level business needs into detailed functional specifications user stories and technical requirements for development teams. Collaborate with solution architects and developers to design and build effective scalable solutions.
• Act as a project lead on moderate to large projects planning and monitoring timelines budgets and resources. Drive continuous improvement by analyzing existing business processes and identifying opportunities for optimization and automation.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation including data flow diagrams process maps user manuals and training materials. Communicate complex information and project status effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences including senior management.
• Design and execute thorough test plans and scenarios (e.g. UAT performance testing) to ensure solutions are accurate reliable and compliant with requirements and quality standards.
• Provide ongoing support for implemented systems troubleshoot complex issues and conduct user training sessions to ensure user adoption and proficiency.
• Interface with external vendors and manage their activities including evaluating vendor submissions and ensuring vendor solutions align with business needs.
• Provide guidance and technical leadership to other analysts and team members contributing to the development of best practices within the organization.
• Formulates and defines systems scope and objectives based on both user needs and a thorough understanding of business systems and industry requirements.
• Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations operation time and form of desired results. Includes analysis of business and user needs documentation of requirements and translation into proper system requirements specifications.
• Provides consultation on complex projects and is considered to be the top-level contributor/specialist of most phases of systems analysis while considering the business implications of the application of technology to the current and future business environment

Experience required

Required Qualifications:

• 11-15 yrs. BA experience
• 11-15 yrs. Software Development Lifecycle experience
• 11-15 yrs. requirements gathering and documentation
• 11-15 yrs. MS Office/PowerPoint experience
• Experience as a business systems analyst or in a similar role with demonstrated success in managing complex projects.
• Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools (e.g. Power BI Tableau) SQL process modeling tools (e.g. Visio)
• Experience with development methodologies (Agile Waterfall Scrum) and relevant platforms (e.g. Jira MS Office Salesforce) are highly valued
• Bachelors degree in Business Administration CS IT or related field or equivalent experience
• Excellent analytical problem-solving and critical thinking skills are essential. Strong communication interpersonal and leadership skills required
• Professional Certification in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA IIBA CBAP) or Project Management (PMP) is desired

Minimum Education/ Certification Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in IT or related field or equivalent experience; or a current Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
