The Role: Key Account Manager (Wine Industry)
This role focuses on expanding and maintaining national retail relationships within the Western Cape with a strategic emphasis on securing listings across major groups such as Shoprite and Checkers. Youll play a pivotal role in driving commercial performance executing trade strategies and ensuring the companys brands achieve visibility and profitability within key channels.
Key Responsibilities

Secure Shoprite and Checkers listings within the first three months of employment

Manage and grow existing retail accounts across the Western Cape region

Negotiate pricing promotions and long-term supply agreements
-
Develop and implement account strategies aligned with brand and sales objectives
-
Monitor category performance and competitor activity to inform business decisions
-
Represent the company at trade events tastings and key account meetings
-
Report on sales metrics forecasts and progress toward listing and growth targets
About You
-
Minimum 5 years experience in Key Account Management within the wine spirits or premium FMCG sectors
-
Proven record of securing national retail listings specifically with Shoprite or Checkers
-
Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
-
Confident well-presented communicator able to engage at all levels
-
Preferably Afrikaans-speaking with the ability to liaise effectively with retail management

Self-driven organised and results-oriented
-
Valid drivers licence and willingness to travel regionally
