The Fort St. James Child Protection & Family Service Team delivers responsive child protection services to Fort St. James and surrounding Indigenous communities. The team collaborates with local agencies and partners to support the safety and well-being of children and youth while respecting cultural values and community strengths. Team members work hard support one another and share a deep commitment to providing inclusive high-quality service.
The Role
The Traveling Child Protection Worker responds to child safety concerns and assesses risk to ensure the well-being of children and youth in Fort St. James and surrounding communities. The role builds relationships with families and Indigenous partners supports culturally safe practices and delivers services in rural and remote areas. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact while working in a fast-paced supportive team environment.

About this Position:
There are two (2) positions available.
This position is on travel status. The position will be providing services in Fort St. James and your home and/or headquarters will be located in the lower mainland (or equally cost effective location). This position will work on a travelling schedule working ten (10) days in the office in Fort St. James followed by ten (10) days at the employees base head quarter position is not eligible for Isolation Allowance or Retention Incentive Programs.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future permanent and/or temporary vacancies.
