About the Role:

Join our dynamic team as a (Senior) Corporate Counsel and play a key role in shaping data privacy best practices forAltium a Renesas Electronics this role you will provide expert legal advice on data privacy and protection requirements develop and maintain legal templates and precedents support sustainability reporting initiatives negotiate contract terms and collaborate closely with colleagues and stakeholdersacross Altium and the broader Renesas organization all within a supportive highly collaborative environment.

As a (Senior) Corporate Counsel you will play a crucial role in leading these efforts globally and contributing to our Privacy by Design initiatives. A Day in the Life of Our Legal Counsel:

  • Manage and maintain Renesas policies practices and guidance relating to data privacy;
  • Partner with key business stakeholders particularly our Information Security Division to ensure data privacy issues are considered to support our corporate strategy our products and services;
  • Respond to enquiries and issues relating to data privacy practices including the right to be forgotten the withdrawal of consent and related data subject rights requests and prepare email communications in respect of the same;
  • Maintain our global understanding of applicable compliance legislative and regulatory requirements and obligations relating to data privacy;
  • Monitor global trends and recommend and design our approach; and
  • Review and provide timely drafting responses to customer or vendor contracts with data privacy and processing terms.

Who we are looking for:

  • A qualified lawyer with 5 years or more of experience with a focus on data privacy and alsowith excellent academic credentials;
  • Demonstrated deep knowledge of data privacy data handling and its application;
  • IAPP credentials (e.g. CIPP E) desirable;
  • Demonstrated experience in managing data privacy issues for a global organisation;
  • Expertise in global and European data protection laws and practices and an in-depth understanding of GDPR;
  • Capable of conducting data privacy compliance reviews and audits;
  • Ability to review analyse and organise documentary and factual evidence
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint Excel and online research tools.

Technical and personal skills:

  • Excellent written organisational and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines and manage own caseload;
  • Sound communication skills including the ability to liaise with stakeholders across our business;
  • Ability to work well in a team and individually;
  • Keen to exercise initiative.

Our hybrid schedule
