We are seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient Junior Facility Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations and maintenance of our critical infrastructure. The successful candidate will ensure the continuous availability optimal efficiency and security of all physical systems including power cooling and facility space management. This is a crucial hands-on role requiring a commitment to upholding strict operational and maintenance standards.
1. Power and Electrical Systems Management
- System Oversight: Manage the operational health and performance of critical power infrastructure including Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems diesel generators and Power Distribution Units (PDUs).
- Redundancy and Reliability: Implement monitor and maintain electrical redundancy models specifically N N1 and 2N architectures to eliminate single points of failure.
- Capacity Planning: Perform regular electrical load balancing and capacity planning to ensure sufficient power resources for current and future technology needs.
- Preventive Maintenance: Develop schedule and execute comprehensive preventive maintenance (PM) schedules for all electrical components to maximize equipment lifespan and reliability.
2. Cooling and Environmental Control
- HVAC Operations: Oversee the operation and maintenance of HVAC (Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning) systems essential for data center cooling.
- Advanced Cooling Systems: Manage specialized cooling equipment such as CRAC/CRAH (Computer Room Air Conditioning/Handling) units chilled water systems and modern in-row cooling solutions.
- Containment: Enforce and optimize hot/cold aisle containment best practices to improve cooling efficiency and reduce power consumption.
- Monitoring: Continuously monitor and report on critical environmental factors including temperature humidity and airflow ensuring they remain within acceptable data center standards.
3. Facility Infrastructure and Space Management
- Physical Layout: Manage rack space allocation and inventory ensuring efficient use of data center floor space for new hardware deployments.
- Cabling Standards: Enforce rigorous cable management standards for all network and power cabling to ensure safety ease of maintenance and compliance.
- Physical Design: Maintain and manage physical infrastructure elements such as raised floor design and overhead cabling pathways.
- DCIM Tools: Utilize Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) tools for real-time monitoring asset tracking and capacity planning.
- Environmental Sensing: Manage and maintain environmental sensors (temperature humidity water leakage smoke detection) to provide early warnings for potential physical threats.
Requirements
- Proven experience (2 years) managing critical facility infrastructure ideally within a data center or high-availability environment.
- Strong technical understanding of electrical systems including UPS generators and distribution gear.
- Practical knowledge of HVAC systems and data center cooling technologies.
- Familiarity with industry best practices for rack management cabling and change control.
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and blueprints.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to respond effectively to system alerts and emergencies.
