At BA Kockums we design build and sustain world-class submarines and surface vessels for the Swedish Navy and international customers. We are now looking for a driven and experienced Head of Shipbuilding Projects to join our Shipyard management team.

In this key leadership role you will be responsible for leading the preparations and calculations for new shipyard projects and make sure that we develop and lead our projects all the way from initial customer interactions to delivery. You will also be leading the business development for industrial manufacturing projects. Your role is vital to ensure efficient high-quality and timely execution of our new-build and modification projects. You will play a central role in developing our production capabilities and strategies for the future ensuring that Kockums remains at the forefront of advanced shipbuilding.

Your role

As part of the Shipyard management team you will lead the organization responsible for shipbuilding execution plans developing production schedules cost calculations and the project management process across all shipbuilding projects within BA Kockums. Your focus will be to develop and implement strategies structures and capabilities that support efficient production continuous improvement and delivery excellence.

You will ensure strong collaboration across engineering production suppliers and customers aligning all stakeholders toward common goals and priorities.

• Lead and develop the Project Management Office (PMO) for shipbuilding projects guiding a team of skilled and motivated Project Managers.

• Provide technical and strategic leadership in project execution ensuring timely and high-quality deliveries tailored to customer needs.

• Develop and implement project execution strategies and plans as well as cost calculations for new business opportunities.

• Lead and develop a team for delivery of complex production schedules and cost calculations for new business opportunities to our business units.

• Lead BA Kockums business development for industrial manufacturing projects.

• Promote a culture of continuous improvement collaboration and innovation across all functions.

Your Profile

We believe you are a seasoned leader with a strong background in industrialization production engineering or large-scale project execution ideally from a complex manufacturing or shipbuilding environment. You combine strategic thinking with a hands-on approach and have a proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams through change and growth.

Qualifications

• Solid experience in production strategy industrialization or manufacturing development.

• Proven leadership experience preferably within large technical or engineering organizations.

• Strong business acumen and ability to balance long-term strategic goals with operational priorities.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills in English (Swedish is an advantage).

This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.
