Title: Sample Processor
Required Shift:
Monday Friday
8am 5pm
(Hours may differ based on business needs)
Job Purpose:
This role supports the implementation of the Micro Verification Standards through the collection organizing and processing of samples from environmental to WIP to Finished Product. Team Members must have the skill set to train and/or perform the tasks of other associates in the area as needed. This job requires strong communication interpersonal and team building skills to support site objectives.
What are we looking for
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- General knowledge of Food Safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent lifting/carrying pushing (10-50 lbs) and pushing/pulling (50-300 lbs)
- Frequent bending stooping twisting handling and gripping
- Ability to work at elevated heights climb stairs leaning over equipment and work in confined spaces
- Ability to stand and/or work on feet for extended periods (minimum eight hours in one shift).
- Ability to read write and speak English
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to work independently as well as in a group setting
- Preferred: 3 years of manufacturing experience operating a variety of machines working with quality checks
- Experience with SAP.
- Able to operate a computer and utilize Microsoft Office Suite
What will be your Key Responsibilities
- Performs all assigned activities & job tasks throughout the plant.
- Performs pathogen environmental monitoring (Zones 3 and 4) at prescribed frequency (weekly monthly quarterly)
- Collects samples from storage tanks
- Collects in-process samples at prescribed frequency
- Performs weekly Zone 1 (product contact) swabbing for indicators
- Performs Zone 2 indicator swabbing of manufacturing environment.
- Composites and labels finished good samples
- Populates Sample Analysis Request Form (SARF) with sample information
- Packages all samples (swabs chocolate and in-process) for shipment to external laboratory using predefined procedures.
- Enters finished good data (item number code date etc.) into MRS
- Perform investigational swabbing and/or sampling as directed by the Food Safety Scientist or designate.
