Job Summary

Position Overview:

The Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLP-A) provides speech and language services to students under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist. This position supports communication development and language access for students across SEEM Collaborative programs and in member district schools promoting success in educational and social participation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Implement therapy activities designed by and under the direction of the supervising SLP to address students speech language and communication goals.
  • Conduct individual and small group therapy sessions in accordance with each students Individualized Education Program (IEP).
  • Support implementation of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems and assistive technology as guided by the supervising SLP.
  • Collect data on student progress maintain accurate session notes and provide input for documentation and progress reports.
  • Assist with speech and language screenings and informal observations as assigned.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers paraprofessionals related service providers and families to carry over communication strategies into daily routines.
  • Prepare therapy materials visuals and communication supports to enhance student engagement.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student records and comply with all state and federal regulations.
  • Travel between SEEM Collaborative programs and member district schools as needed.
  • Participate in supervision sessions team meetings and professional development as directed.
  • Assist in SEEM programs as caseload allows.
  • All other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Executive Director.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders Speech-Language Pathology or related field.
  • Current Massachusetts licensure as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLP-A).
  • Previous experience working in educational or pediatric settings preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and across multiple school sites.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
