Were looking for a Data Engineer to join our Market Insights team. Youll be part of of Group Strategy & Business Development (S&BD) providing long term fundamental economic analysis and strategic insights for Vattenfall. Our key productthe Long-Term Market Outlook (LTMO)guides investment planning asset valuation and regulatory analysis across Vattenfall.
What Youll Learn and Do.
You will work at the intersection of data engineering energy market modelling and digital transformation. As Data Engineer you will play an essential role in supporting energy market analysis by designing building and maintaining a robust data infrastructure. Your work enables the team to simulate understand and project energy market dynamics pricing and policy impacts. You will be a key contributor to the development and delivery of Vattenfalls LTMO a strategic scenario product used across the company for investment planning asset valuation and regulatory analysis.
Your learning journey will include:
- Building and maintaining data infrastructure
Learn to operate our Azure-based LTMO Data Hub including Databricks notebooks SQL pipelines and Python scripts. - Publishing and visualizing data
Help prepare LTMO outputs using Power BI dashboards and Excel templates while learning best practices in data quality and version control. - Automating workflows
Support the team in streamlining processes and exploring AI and cloud-native tools to improve efficiency. - Running market scenarios
Get hands-on experience with the BID3 model and learn how we simulate energy market dynamics. - Collaborating across teams
Work with modellers IT experts and business stakeholders to understand how data drives decisions.

Qualifications :
Who You Are
Youre curious motivated and you are ready to make the next step in your career and have up to 2 - 4 years of experience in a data-related role. What matters most is your willingness to learn and contribute.
Youll thrive here if you:
- Strong programming skills in Python and SQL with experience building and maintaining data pipelines in Azure Databricks
- Proficiency in Power BI and Excel for data visualisation and stakeholder reporting
- Are interested in energy market modelling and how data supports strategic decisions
- Enjoy solving problems and improving processes
- Communicate clearly and like working with IT teams modellers and business stakeholders ensuring alignment on assumptions deliverables and timelines
- Are organized and care about data quality and documentation
