The Seasonal Boat Attendant position is responsible for providing safe high-quality recreational experiences at District boat rental facilities.
What Youll Do
- Provide District information to the public regarding the preserves recreational opportunities rules and regulations.
- Distribute equipment and attend to individuals renting boats.
- Monitor lake safety and check boaters in as they enter and exit the facility.
- Maintain neat and accurate records and assist with ground maintenance and cleaning of amenities.
- Foster a working environment that promotes safe work habits that supports a clean organized and hazard-free environment.
- Deliver excellent customer service and support a positive team-oriented workplace.
What Youll Need
- 16 years of age or older at time of hire.
- Experience with managing facility operations customer service and recreational programming preferred.
- Must have and maintain CPR AED and First Aid certification or obtain upon hire.
- Must have and maintain Illinois Mandated Reporter certification or obtain upon hire.
- Strong troubleshooting and conflict management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time independently.
- Ability to interpret rules and regulations.
Schedule & Pay
- Schedule is 10:30 am to 6:30 pm shifts may be scheduled any day of the week including weekends and holidays.
- Expected start date is early May 2026 through late September.
- $16.00 per hour
- Safety boot reimbursement provided
Work Setting
- Position is based out of Blackwell Forest Preserve
- Requires working indoors and outdoors during appropriate seasons. Exposure to all weather conditions insects and other wildlife. Use of hand tools and cleaning chemicals. Frequent lifting and maneuvering of large objects.
