Applications are invited for appointment as Tenure-Track Associate Professor/Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 533358) to commence as soon as possible on a three-year fixed-term basis with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second three-year fixed-term contract.
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree or equivalent in a related discipline witha strong fundable research area that fits with the Departmentsresearch areas. They should have a proven track record of high-quality research as indicated by publication record and external grants and demonstrated ability to work across disciplines towards new research initiatives. They should also show a strong commitment to undergraduate andpostgraduate teaching. Applicants for the Associate Professor level should also have demonstrated evidence of regional and international standing in their research field and a proven leadership track record.
The appointee is expected to conduct independent and collaborative scholarly research and attract competitive grantsto maintain active research programmes. He/She will take part in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and supervise research postgraduate students. He/She is also expected to perform administrative duties. At current rates salary tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme totalling up to 15% of basic salary.
