Job Summary
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in North Northamptonshire to assist with the appointment of a Waste Collection Driver on a 6-month contract highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: 15.84 - 20.12 per hour
Summary:
The Waste Collection Driver is responsible for safely driving and operating a heavy goods vehicle (HGV) to collect waste and recycling from designated routes. The role involves working as part of a team to ensure the timely safe and efficient collection of household and commercial waste while adhering to health and safety standards and operational procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Drive and operate a refuse collection vehicle (HGV) safely on designated routes.
- Work as part of a crew to complete daily waste and recycling collections efficiently.
- Conduct daily vehicle checks report any defects and ensure vehicles are roadworthy.
- Follow health and safety procedures including correct use of PPE and adherence to traffic regulations.
- Assist with loading and unloading waste where required.
- Report any issues encountered on the route or with collections to the supervisor.
Requirements:
- Full HGV licence appropriate for waste collection vehicles.
- Ability to drive safely and adhere to all road traffic laws.

- You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
