Summary:

The Contact Supervision Worker plays a critical front-line role in the Family Time service ensuring children and young people (aged 0 to 17) who are in care maintain safe and meaningful contact with their parents carers and other significant people as outlined in their care role primarily involves the transporting and professional supervision of children coupled with the critical responsibility of maintaining accurate records and upholding safeguarding standards. Due to the nature of the work this position is mandatory for drivers requiring the successful candidate to possess a current driving licence have sole use of a car for work and maintain business insurance.
Responsibilities:
- Safely transport children and young people (aged 0-17) from their placement to the contact venue and return them safely upon conclusion.
- Supervise contact sessions between children and their parents/carers ensuring that all contact requirements and established procedures are strictly followed to maintain a safe and positive environment.
- Provide high-quality written reports and contact notes using the required template detailing key observations and issues that arose during the supervised contact.
- Make accurate and timely recordings of information and updates on the Birmingham Childrens Trust (BCT) child database.
- Form and maintain effective working relationships with children parents whose children are in care foster carers social workers and other involved professionals.
Essentials:
- A formal qualification in childcare or equivalent is desirable.
- Minimum substantial work voluntary or personal experience of direct work with children ideally including those under 10 years of age.
- A solid understanding of safeguarding issues and the correct procedure for reporting these to a senior member of staff.
- Must possess a current valid driving licence and have sole use of a car for work purposes along with appropriate business insurance.

- You should have right to work in U.K
- This role requires a Basic DBS
