Job Summary
This is recreation work that involves instructing/facilitating programs and services preparing individual program plans and promoting interest and encouraging participation in program activity. Duties are performed within established guidelines but independent action and initiative is exercised on individual aspects of the programs. Work is performed under general supervision and is evaluated by a supervisor in terms of effectiveness of instruction services provided and conformance to established practices.
The Training Manual Requirements pre-qualifications for this position are:
- Six (6) months full time equivalent experience volunteering/working in the recreation field and/or a volunteer management setting
- Minimum of two post-secondary courses related to volunteer management
- Interpersonal skills training
The Class Specification requires Standard First Aid Food Safe and a Valid Class 5 or 7 Drivers License for the Province of British Columbia and are job requirements.
