Location and hours:
These are full-time or part-time positions located at NorthPoint Health and Wellness Center 2220 Plymouth Avenue North Minneapolis MN 55411. Clinic hours are Monday Wednesday and Friday from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday from 8 a.m. - 7 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. (work hours will vary).New Employee Orientation (NEO) for all new benefit-earning employees is in-person in downtown Minneapolis. Details about NEO will be provided upon hire.

About these position types:
These are full-time orpart-time benefit earning positions.
These positions are internally classified as a Dental Hygienist.

In these positions you will:
  • Perform complete prophylaxis including scaling root planning soft tissue curettage and polishing of fillings.
  • Perform preliminary examination including securing case history performing periodontal probing and recording clinical findings.
  • Advise patients on proper diet and dental care.
  • Chart patient treatments.
  • Counsel patient and family on dental care and treatments.

Need to have:
  • Associates degree in a dental hygiene program approved by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA).
  • Possession of a valid license as a dental hygienist issued by the Minnesota Board of Dentistry.

Nice to have:
  • Certification to administer anesthetics and nitrous oxide.
  • Experience:
    • As a dental hygienist including applying sealants.
    • Using Electronic Dental Record and Digital Radiography (DXone).
    • Working within a community-based environment.
  • Knowledge and ability to perform dental techniques and procedures preliminary examination procedures instructional techniques and oral hygiene techniques.
  • Ability to:
    • Chart patient treatments and progress.
    • Clean and maintain dental equipment and instruments.
    • Work effectively in a team environment.
    • Respect and appreciate diverse co-workers and customers.

Candidates with fluency in Spanish Hmong and Somali in addition to English are encouraged to apply. Bilingual candidates who pass a language assessment may qualify for additional bilingual pay and duties.
