Job Summary
Are you a technically driven leader with a passion for people and performance Were looking for a Service Manager experienced in industrial refrigeration rotating equipment and compression systems. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with leadership overseeing service operations guiding technicians and ensuring safe efficient and reliable plant performance across multiple client sites.
Job Description:
- Lead and coordinate maintenance and repair activities on ammonia refrigeration systems
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulatory and performance standards (SANS PER OSHA)
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance strategies to minimize downtime
- Analyse system data to identify trends improve performance and enhance reliability
- Manage mentor and motivate a team of refrigeration technicians and apprentices
- Plan and allocate resources effectively to meet client and project demands
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through professional communication and technical support
Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 5 years experience in industrial refrigeration or rotating equipment maintenance
- At least 2 years in a leadership or service management capacity
- Strong technical background in compressors electrical systems and PLC control technologies
- Proven ability to lead field teams and drive service quality improvements
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Emotionally intelligent leader with a calm solutions-oriented approach
- Proficient in service management and CMMS platforms
Qualification:
- Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Industrial or Mechatronic Engineering (or equivalent)
- Trade Test in Industrial Refrigeration (advantageous)
- Valid SAQCC Gas Category B8 License (advantageous)
- Valid Code B drivers license and clean record
- Additional training in electrical or control systems will be beneficial
