As a Community Connector you will play a vital role in supporting people experiencing financial hardship or social isolation. Working within a strengths-based and trauma-informed framework youll provide practical emotional and social support to people accessing our Emergency Relief and Community Food Van/Hubs.

Youll be the welcoming face of HCM offering guidance referrals and connection to services that empower individuals to improve their wellbeing. The role also involves administrative and reception duties ensuring that everyone who walks through our doors feels respected supported and valued.

About the role:

  • Provide financial and material assistance to people experiencing financial crisis
  • Provide information advocacy and referrals to people accessing our services
  • Develop networks with other services and create strong referral pathways
  • Help build financial resilience through money management guidance.
  • Manage appointment calendars data entry and client records.
  • Provide a welcoming first point of contact at HCM reception.
  • Work collaboratively with staff volunteers and external partners.

About You:

  • A Diploma in Mental Health or Community Services
  • Experience supporting people affected by homelessness family violence mental health challenges or substance use.
  • Experience working with people from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Strong communication organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Competence with Microsoft Office and administrative systems.
