Sewer (Fullerton, CA) (Seasonal)

THE ROLE

Avocado is currently looking for a Sewer to be part of the Production Team.

This candidate will join a dynamic fast-growing team working across our multiple factory locations and will be responsible for helping create our eco-friendly organic mattresses!

• Note on Location: Here at Avocado Green Brands we treasure teamwork and working together in person. Depending on the role you will be working on-site at one of our Fullerton locations.
• Note on Pay Transparency:. The pay range for this role is $$16.50 - $17.44 Hourly.

WHAT YOULL BE WORKING ON

• Control and adjust machine settings (e.g. speed).

• Feed raw materials or components into semi-automated machines (4000 serger 515 serger single multi needle walking foot ETC)

• Operate a variety of industrial sewing machines to stitch components accurately.

• Fix issues that might occur during the shift including thread breaks or machine jams.

• Inspect finished products for quality accuracy and consistency.

• Maintain a clean and organized workstation.

WHAT YOU BRING

• Proven experience as a sewing machine operator including all gauge double needle single needle bartacker and overlock machines.

• Adherence to health and safety regulations (e.g. constant use of protective gear).

• Strong attention to detail and quality craftsmanship.

• Teamwork and communication skills.

• Ability to follow company safety culture and Cal/OSHA regulations.

• Ability to identify and report work hazards incidents and injuries to management.

• Regular and predictable attendance.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Lifting: Ability to lift and carry materials up to 2540 lbs. as needed.

• Movement: Frequent sitting at sewing machines; occasional standing bending and reaching throughout the shift.

• Dexterity: Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for handling fabrics threads and machine controls.

• Environment: Ability to work in a production setting with sewing equipment moderate noise levels and repetitive tasks.

• Vision: Ability to visually inspect fabric and seams for quality and accuracy.
