Tax Staff II

Our Tax Staff II apply problem-solving and analytical skills to help our clients flourish. As you continue developing your technical abilities intriguing opportunities await with a broad range of industries. Gain momentum on the path towards success by taking increasing responsibility for projects while simultaneously coaching other staff members in time management techniquesall backed up with guidance from experienced professionals.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Effectively prepare and apply tax knowledge to individual returns and less complex business returns.
- Prepare a completed and organized tax file including appropriate supporting documentation for the tax return.
- Anticipate problems and issues and effectively exhibit communication listening and problem-solving skills.
- Provide basic reviews on individual and less complex business returns.
- Comply with Firm practice management procedures and systems.
- Demonstrate an understanding of fundamental principles of tax law.
- Develop positive working relationships with all clients.
- Exhibit an understanding of computer systems used in tax preparation process.
- Exhibit an understanding of the tax levels of authorities legal precedents rulings and regulations.
- Provide research support to a transaction review process.
- Work on assigned segments of tax and in some instances; assume substantial responsibility (under supervision) for small individual and less complex business returns.
- Maintain a minimum of 40 hours of Continuing Professional Education (CPE) each calendar year.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in accounting or related field.
- Eligible to sit for Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam or have CPA certification preferred.
- Foundational knowledge of GAAP and other accounting-related topics.
- Ability to work extended hours during busy seasons.
- Minimum two tax seasons experience.
- Ability to work extended hours during busy seasons.
