This role is hybrid and will be based out of our New Brighton MN location.

Compensation: $67000.00 - $78000.00 / annually

As a Corporate Safety Specialist you will:

Develop implement and maintain comprehensive safety programs policies initiatives and procedures to meet regulatory and company requirements.
Conduct regular safety audits inspections and risk assessments of Bell Lumber & Pole facilities to identify hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards.
Develop training content and lead safety training sessions for employees contractors and visitors on topics such as personal protective equipment emergency response hazardous materials handling and incident reporting.
Review completed incident investigations to ensure applicable causal factors and mitigations have been identified.
Work with Supervisors Site Leaders and Management in completing investigations for complex incidents.
Track action items and follow up with action item owners to ensure completion in timely manner.
Monitor changes in safety regulations and ensure that the company remains compliant with OSHA and Canadian provincial safety standards.
Collaborate with management and operations teams to identify high-risk areas and recommend solutions for mitigating risks and preventing accidents.
Participate in the development of safety plans for new equipment processes or facility modifications.
Act as a point of contact for employee safety concerns and ensure prompt action is taken to address any issues.
Promote a culture of safety awareness through regular communications workshops and safety campaigns.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Occupational Health and Safety Environmental Science Industrial Engineering or a related field (preferred).

AND

Minimum3 years of experience in a safety role within a manufacturing environment.

Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to travel 1-2x a month to Albert Lea MN and other Bell Sites.

Other Skills & Requirements:

In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations safety standards and best practices.
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) Associate Safety Professional (ASP) Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST) or other relevant certifications (preferred).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop practical safety solutions.
Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to train and influence employees at all levels.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
