Job Summary

Position Description:

We are seeking a seasoned Process Control & Modelling Engineer with 78 years of experience in the oil & gas sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial automation process modelling and control systems with a proven track record of delivering high-impact solutions in upstream midstream or downstream operations. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to optimize production processes enhance asset performance and support digital transformation initiatives.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

. Lead the development deployment and optimization of process control strategies across oil & gas production and refining assets.
. Build and maintain dynamic process models using simulation tools to support operational decision-making troubleshooting and predictive maintenance.
. Collaborate with operations instrumentation and IT teams to integrate control systems (DCS/PLC/SCADA) with enterprise applications and data platforms.
. Implement Advanced Process Control (APC) and Model Predictive Control (MPC) solutions to improve throughput energy efficiency and product quality.
. Support digital twin initiatives and contribute to the development of smart manufacturing capabilities.
. Conduct root cause analysis process hazard analysis (PHA) and risk assessments to ensure safe and reliable operations.
. Ensure compliance with industry standards such as ISA-95 ISA-88 and IEC 62443 and Shells internal OT security protocols.
. Participate in technology evaluations and vendor assessments to identify best-fit solutions for control and modelling applications.
. Prepare and maintain technical documentation including functional specifications architecture diagrams and validation protocols.
. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to capability building within the engineering team.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

. Bachelors or Masters degree in Chemical Engineering Instrumentation Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
. Experience in process control modelling or manufacturing applications within the oil & gas industry.
. Proficiency in tools such as Aspen DMC ROMeo Honeywell UniSim or AVEVA Process Simulation.
. Hands-on experience with DCS/PLC systems (e.g. Honeywell Emerson Yokogawa ABB) and SCADA/HMI platforms.
. Strong understanding of process safety alarm management and cybersecurity in OT environments.
. Excellent communication stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills.
