What you will be doing in this role

As an Administration Officer in Patient Services and the Emergency Centre you will be the first point of contact for patients and their families when they enter the hospital. Youll handle admission and discharge paperwork update and maintain medical records process payments and provide professional frontline support and exceptional customer service.

We are looking for experienced customer service professionals that have a good eye for detail and strong time management skills. Youll be empathetic discreet and be able to act quickly. If you have experience within a similar role that would be an added bonus however on the job training will be provided.

We have casual and full-time roles available. The team work on a 28-day rotating roster including nights and weekends. As a casual you will be expected to cover 3 shifts per week including 1 night shift 10pm 6pm.

As a full-time employee we would love for you to work 1 consistent weekend shift (night or day) and an average of 2 overnight shifts during the week.

Who were looking for

  • Youll have a strong interest in the healthcare industry and preference will be given to applicants with previous experience in a similar role. Ideally your medical knowledge will enable you to triage patients as they come into Emergency.
  • Youll have strong customer service skills both face to face and in person and are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Youll be calm professional and work well under pressure.
  • Youll have excellent communication skills and have a keen eye of accuracy in written documents.
  • Youll be comfortable learning new technology and processes and have strong computer skills.
  • Youll be a quick learner as well as self-driver and motivated in your work.
  • Youll have full Australian working rights.
