Job Summary

TITLE:Gear up Iowa Grant Coordinator

POSTION TYPE: Specialist

HIRING SPECIFICATIONS:


Required:

1. Bachelors degree in education social services or related field.

2. Three to five years experience working in a school setting.

3. Experience serving on a leadership team building district organizational.

Desired Education and Experience:

1. Experience as a teacher school counselor or administrator.

2. Masters degree in school counseling.

3. Valid Iowa teaching license.

4. Experience with CCR software platforms.

5. Experience supervising and/or managing teams.

6. Experience and managing grants including submitted grant reports and completing compliance paperwork.

Skills Knowledge and Abilities:

1. Ability to manage grant programs including budgets and progress reports.

2. Knowledge of post-secondary planning and pathway options.

3. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.

4. Effective written and oral communication and presentation techniques.

5. Knowledge of current technologies spreadsheets and presentation software.

6. Ability to travel from site to site throughout the district.

7. Competency working in a multicultural environment or the willingness to acquire these skills.

BASIC FUNCTION:Coordinate the post-secondary planning curriculum and programming to guide all students (K-12) to enter the college or career training program of their choice upon graduation.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Oversee the programming and expenditures funded by the Gear up Iowa grant and comply with all reporting requirements including but not limited to ensuring staff are submitting services and student interaction into Salesforce Iowa Grants platform and submitting Match documentation monthly.

2. Manage the post-secondary success labs in each high school including the programming and collaboration of future ready coaches school counselors other staff and community partners who utilize them.

3. Support and lead professional development for future ready coaches in five high schools (excluding Virtual Campus) including but not limited to regular one-on-one meetings daily communication program and project support and training and collaboration with principals on evaluation.

4. Plan and lead monthly future ready team meetings with all future ready coaches.

5. Plan and lead the following collaboration meetings: monthly future gear up 3.0 meetings with high school staff Gear up 3.0 implementation plan and budget meetings with internal and external stakeholders.

6. Collaborate with school counselors to implement the Tier 1 instruction of the DMPS post-secondary success standards to facilitate student exploration of careers and post-secondary education/training in all grades K-12.

7. Facilitate and collaborate with building staff and programs regarding their post-secondary planning initiatives including but not limited to district college and career fairs college and career visits FAFSA completion events course to college programming and implementation of the ICAN curriculum.

8. Collaborate with the K -12 counseling coordinator and district departments to support the design of the DMPS District Career and Academic Plan (DCAP) plan monitor our progress and ensure the completion of all requirements.

9. Collaborate with district departments and teammates to design the DMPS Individual Career and Academic Plan (ICAP) plan monitor our progress and ensure the completion of all requirements.

10. Collaborate with external partnerships focused on post-secondary access and success including but not limited to I-Jag By Degrees Bright Foundation Trio programs ISU Science Bound ISU for Promise Investing in My Future Avenue Scholars and colleges and universities.

11. Support internal partnerships and programs such as Brother 2 Brother Sisters 4 Success and Students in Action in their post-secondary goals and initiatives.

12. Oversee the implementation of the DMPS college and career readiness software platform (Schoolinks) and the accompany customization of infinite campus and tableau and the training of all stakeholders staff students and parents in using the platform.

13. Collect and analyze data to demonstrate the progress of all DMPS post-secondary planning initiatives including but not limited to FAFSA completion data Iowa Department of Education post-secondary data National Student Clearinghouse data and Schoolinks post-secondary goals interests in college application data.

DAYS: 230 Day Calendar HOURS: 8 hour day

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Constant: Computer Frequent: Phone Standing Walking Sitting. Occasional Bending/stooping Reaching/Pushing/Pulling Climbing stairs Driving Lifting 25 lbs carrying 20 feet.
