Oversee both electrical and heavy civil operations ensuring effective integration of both disciplines on projects.
Approve labor rates and manage workforce distribution ensuring a balanced and efficient mix of foremen journeymen and laborers.
Manage contract administration and lead communication meetings with subcontractors and field management teams specifically focused on heavy civil and electrical coordination.
Review job cost updates and financial projections ensuring both electrical and civil scopes are delivered within budget.
Review approve and negotiate change orders addressing both civil and electrical work as required.
Ensure timely performance evaluations for direct reports and recommend appropriate staffing adjustments.
Prepare estimates for civil scope of work by:
Reading and interpreting Request for Proposal (RFP) documents construction drawings and specifications to understand the scope of the project and ensure the Estimate/Proposal satisfies RFP obligations
Collaborating with the Electrical Estimating Team on means and methods value-added concepts and building a strategy
Developing Project schedule
Completing and/or compiling all material takeoffs for the estimate
Ensuring all Subcontracts and Permanent Material quotes are issued and coordinated to ensure the Scope of work is clear and pricing is accurate.
Establishing Labor wages and unit rates for tasks
Qualifications:
10 years of construction and estimating experience including 3 years in a Superintendent or leadership role with a focus on heavy civil and electrical projects.
NYC Agency experience preferred. MTA PANYNJ DOT NYCT LIRR Amtrak
Proven ability to manage both heavy civil and electrical operations ensuring coordination and smooth integration on job sites.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to varying project demands and challenges.
Excellent leadership communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage diverse teams across different disciplines.
Expertise in safety contract administration planning and negotiation related to heavy civil construction.
Additional Requirements:
Regular reliable attendance and ability to manage demanding project timelines.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams.
