Information: Three 12-hour shifts scheduled per week for full-time. Length of shift is dependent on procedure schedule and patient load. Shifts could possibly be shorter or longer than 12 hours. Unit Specifics - Information below is requested for better sourcing: Number of Beds: 10 bedPatient Ratios: Patient ratios for recovery are based on patient acuity but on average a nurse will recover 2-3 patients at one time. Dress Code: Include requirements but most of all not acceptable ColorRN: Royal blueNail Policy Clean and Healthy no artificial nails gel next gen - hair should be neat and clean with no extreme styles or colors. Beards mustaches and sideburns should be clean and neatly trimmed. Hair must be pulled back if shoulder length or longer when working in the Body art should be covered whenever possible. Body art that is not feasible to cover on a daily basis will be addressed individuallyPiercings Visible piercings other than ears is prohibited. This includes nose rings tongue rings etc. Other Unit Guidelines/Policies: Floating Guidelines: Attendance Policies: The company wide attendance policy will be followed. Any additional information that would entice a worker to select your unit for their assignment: Consider items such as new equipment or technology tenure and experience of staff schedule options etc. Cath Lab Holding (also known as Short Stay) is a prep and recovery department for patients for Cath Lab and Interventional our department we also assist the physician with TEE s Cardioversions and Dobutamine Stress Echo s. Medical City Fort Worth is a Magnet staffing is based off the procedure schedule for each day. We care for both outpatients and inpatients. Our unit is a 10 bed holding unit; we have an overflow area that can hold an additional 4 patients if needed. We prep patients for procedures as well as recover them ratios for recovery are based on patient acuity but on average a nurse will recover 2-3 patients at one time. Acuity of patients ranges from Med-Surg to Critical Care. Recovery includes removal of arterial and venous sheaths and manual pressure is patients include Ultrasound Radiology CT and Interventional Radiology/Specials patients that require prep for procedure and monitoring post procedure. Tele/PCU experience acceptable. ACLS/BLS required. Intra-aortic balloon pump or Impella device experience a plus. Vasoactive drug experience a plus. Challenges of working in this department include a high volume and fast-paced patient turnover. Hours vary day-to-day depending on success requires the capability to work as a member of a strong team. Must be able to communicate with other staff members effectively.
